As work progresses on the major Wollaston Road upgrade, lane and road closures will be necessary in September and early October to allow for the next stages of work to be carried out safely.

EASTBOUND LANE CLOSURE

Wollaston Road’s eastbound lane will be closed between Sommerville Blvd and the Goodall St roundabout from Monday September 8 for approximately two weeks.

This closure will be in place from 7am-5pm each day, with detours in place via Sommerville Blvd, Recreation Dve and Goodall St.

Works include asphalting, landscaping, kerb indentations and street lighting.

FULL ROAD CLOSURE

Wollaston Road will be closed in both directions from Sommerville Blvd to Walls Road from Saturday September 20 until Sunday October 5.

Vehicles will need to detour via Bridge Road or Raglan Parade.

Local resident access only will be in place from 116 Wollaston Road to Walls Road.

Works during this time include construction on the roundabout at Goodall St, as well as utility, kerbing, drainage and asphalting works.

This closure has been scheduled to coincide with the school holidays. Merri River School will remain accessible via an access road from Goodall St.

The above work is being carried out by Rodger Constructions as part of their developer contributions.
