Work on the major Wollaston Road project is continuing, with a closure required between Caramut Road and Yarra Drive for the next stage to progress.
This has been timed to coincide with the school holidays, with the closure scheduled to run from July 5-20.
Access to Wollaston Road will only be via Mortlake Road during this closure. Yarra Drive will remain accessible, and bike riders will still be able to use the southern footpath. Single lane access via the use of portable traffic lights will be used into Yarra Drive during the proposed closure.
The developer's contractors will adjust their working hours to minimise the closure period. Work may take place between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday, 7am and 5pm Saturday, and 8am and 5pm Sunday.
Thank you once again for your patience while this important project is carried out. This is Warrnambool's biggest road project in over a decade. The end result will be worth it, with a wider road with footpaths, parking lanes, bike lanes, new roundabouts, lighting and bus stops.
