West Warrnambool Neighbourhood House

Supported by the Warrnambool City Council and funded by the Department for Families, Fairness and Housing, the West Warrnambool Neighbourhood House is a place where people can become involved in community events, find out about other services or activities in the area, join a class or support group or take up an activity for fun and enjoyment.

The West Warrnambool Neighbourhood House was established in March 2019.

The West Warrnambool Neighbourhood House runs school holiday programs, playgroup for children, meditation and mindfulness classes, art and craft, music and information webinars. 

It also offers programs in life skills, health and fitness, digital literacy and provides help for those needing to complete online forms.
 
The West Warrnambool Neighbourhood House is a registered distribution agency for Food Share. Community members experiencing  financial hardship and food insecurity are welcome to contact the house to request assistance with acquiring a food hamper.

Quiz & Coffee Connections
Mondays, 10.30am-12pm

A fun and friendly quiz that will help get your brain started for the week ahead! Cost: $2.

Meet Up Monday
Mondays, 11am-12.30pm

Meet like minded friends, enjoy a coffee, a board game or bring your lunch. Free to attend.

Flavours with Friends - Monthly Cooking Program
First Monday of the month, 1.30pm-3pm

Learn to make savoury and sweet dishes from around the world. Bookings required. Cost: $5.

Toddle on Hoddle
Tuesdays (during the school term), 9.30am-11am at West Warrnambool Primary School

Free playgroup suitable for children aged 0-5. Sing, dance, draw and play!

Tech Time
Tuesdays, 1.30pm-3pm

Get help navigating your mobile device, Facebook, complicated forms, printing and more! Bookings required. Free to attend.

Paint Your Pet
Tuesdays (from June 10), 1.30pm-3.30pm

A fun way to learn acrylic painting techniques while making a lasting memory of your feathered friend or fur baby. The program will run over three consecutive Tuedays. Bookings required. Cost: $30 which includes all materials.

Story Time and Library Service
Every second Wednesday, 10am-11.30am

An interactive and creative way to introduce your child to the wonderful world of books. Warrnambool Library staff will also be available to help you register for a library membership, and you can borrow and return books. Free to attend.

Zentangles Mindful Doodling
Wednesdays (from May 14), 2pm-3pm

Zentangles are a made using a structured drawing method using repetitive patterns, or "tangles," to create abstract designs. It's a relaxing and mindful art practice, focusing on the creative process rather than the final product. Free to attend.

English Conversation Café
Every second Thursday, 10.30am-11.30am

An inclusive and fun opportunity to help improve your English conversation skills in a non threatening and friendly environment. Free to attend.

Casual Crochet
Thursdays, 11.30-12.30pm

Ideal for beginners! Hooks and some wool supplied, get hooked on this productive and creative hobby. Cost: $2.

Crafts & Laughs
Thursdays, 1pm-3.30pm

Bring your own project or get involved in a term project - it's all about having fun and staying connected. Cost: $2.

Westside Walkers
Fridays, 9.30am-10.30am

Social walking group, all abilities and prams welcome. Stay for a cuppa afterwards. Free to attend.

Knit and Natter
Saturdays, 2pm-3.30pm

Bring your knitting project or learn to knit with expert advice, tips and tricks. Cost: $2.
