A major project milestone has been reached with the reopening to vehicle traffic of the east-bound lane of Timor Street on Thursday April 2.
At the same time vehicle access to Ozone Car Park via De Grandi Lane was also restored, with all traffic now required to exit Ozone Car Park via Flaherty Lane.
The remaining approaches to the intersection will be opened in a staged manner over the coming weeks. The delayed start of the project and minor rain delays have meant we cannot fully open the roundabout at this time.
Aside from the delay, the project has proceeded well with a number of the works crew working long days and weekends to ensure access to the car park from De Grandi Lane was available by Easter.
We acknowledge the work of local contractors for their collaborative efforts on a compact work site.
Over the coming fortnight the final layers of pavement will be added along with line-marking, garden beds and tactile markers.
We also acknowledge the understanding and patience of nearby residents and business operators who have had to adjust to the changed conditions.
We’re confident that the improvements will provide long-term safety and amenity benefits for motorists and pedestrians.
