The legacy of East Warrnambool Football Netball Club over more than 120 years was officially commemorated with the unveiling of a plaque at Reid Oval on May 13, 2026.
The Bombers' history at Albert Park as the original tenants of the oval is a significant chapter in the story of local sport in Warrnambool.
The plaque honours generations of committees, members, players, volunteers and supporters and their contributions to football, netball and the wider community.
The plaque reads:
This plaque commemorates the contribution of the East Warrnambool Football Netball Club (formerly East Stars) and acknowledges the contribution for over 120 years by Club committees, members, players, sponsors and supporters to the local community and to the development of the Reid Oval precinct.
Arriving at the Albert Park precinct as the original tenants of the oval, the Club contributed many assets sill in use today and hopefully long into the future for the benefit of the whole community.
Reluctantly disbanded December 31, 2025.
