Love literary fiction, crime novels, quick reads or connecting with fellow readers?
Warrnambool Library has you covered.
“With five book clubs and over 70 curated book club sets available to borrow, now is the perfect time to join our vibrant reading community,” Warrnambool Mayor Cr Ben Blain said.
“You can join a library book club or register your own club.”
Library Service Manager Maryanne Vagg said among the reading groups was a newly launched Crime Book Club, starting this Wednesday July 23.
“Crime Book Club is perfect for fans of twisty thrillers, psychological mysteries, and detective fiction that keep you hooked until the very end,” Ms Vagg said.
“And for those who love historical fiction with a thrilling modern twist, mark your calendars for Readers Rendezvous: Live Online with Alison Goodman, happening 1–2pm in the Library’s Reading Room, Saturday July 26.”
This special event invites readers to step into the daring and dangerous world of Regency London to explore Goodman’s bestselling novel The Benevolent Society of Ill-Mannered Ladies—a witty, feminist mystery that is a Warrnambool Library book club favourite.
“Alison Goodman will be in-conversation live via Zoom and is ready to answer questions about her spirited spinster-detective sisters, the hidden truths of high society, and the art of crafting bold female characters in a reimagined historical world.” Ms Vagg said.
“Join us for an afternoon of engaging discussion, opportunities to ask questions, and connection with fellow book lovers over light refreshments.”
