Important information about fraudulent booking messages

News date:

This is the date and time that this news article was published.

RMS, the external company that provides Surfside Holiday Parks' booking system, has experienced a data breach.

As a result, you may have received a fraudulent message claiming to be from Surfside Holiday Park or Shipwreck Bay Holiday Park asking you to provide credit card details or make a payment to avoid having your booking cancelled.

These emails may contain genuine booking information, including your name, stay dates or booking confirmation number.

No credit card or payment details were accessed as part of the data breach.

Please do not click on links or provide payment details in response to these emails.

If you have provided credit card details or made a payment, please contact your financial institution immediately and let us know.

Your booking with Surfside Holiday Parks remains unchanged and no action is required on your part.

Surfside Holiday Parks is one of over 6,000 RMS clients potentially impacted, so please be vigilant as this breach may have impacted other accommodation providers you have previously made a booking with.

We can also reassure guests that the SMS sent on October 27 reminding guests about the December 1 due date for payment was genuine.

If you are ever unsure of the origins of a message, please do not follow any directions contained within the message and contact the Surfside team directly via phone or email.
