Home owner-occupiers experiencing financial hardship

Council has provisions in place to help owner-occupiers who are experiencing difficulty paying rates.

For the 2024-2025 financial year a $250 Council rate rebate can be applied for by owner-occupiers experiencing genuine financial hardship.

If you are a current holder of a Low Income Health care card click here to apply for the $250 rebate

Please Note: To be eligible for this rebate your must hold a current LOW INCOME Health Care Card identified by the "LI" at the end of the "Card Start Date" as shown in the example below

Apply to defer other payments 

Council will consider deferral of other payments, for services such as home support, for people experiencing hardship.

If you wish to apply for a deferral of your other (debtor) payments please complete the form below.
Other (debtor) payments deferral applications are considered on a case-by-case basis under Council’s hardship provisions.
Once an application has been considered Council will advise the applicant of the outcome.
