Footy returns to Reid Oval

News date:

This is the date and time that this news article was published.

This Saturday is the big day! Footy is back at Reid and we can’t wait for the opening bounce!

While the oval itself is ready for action, there are a few access changes around. Firstly, to allow for grass on the embankments to grow there’s no vehicle access from Coulstock Street. Park in the Cramer Street carpark and enter the ground on foot.

Because the project ran under budget, we were able to add a concrete footpath right around the perimeter of the oval, and that will be a great place to stand and watch the footy.

We’ve also added turf to some of the high-traffic areas, like in front of the existing spectator shelter.

If you’re heading to the netball courts, still enter via Cramer Street and you’ll be able to use the new perimeter path to head around.

We know everyone is excited to have a good look around, so we’ll have an official open day later this month. Stay tuned for details.

The Reid Oval Redevelopment is an $11 million project funded by the Victorian Government, the Warrnambool City Council, Cricket Victoria and the AFL.
