Council intends to purchase 482sqm of land at the corner of Goodall and McMahon streets to improve road safety conditions in the approach to the roundabout at the intersection of the two streets.
Council has been working with the developer of Wollaston Way Estate and the land owner to complete the section of Goodall Street between Wollaston Road and McMahon Sreet.
The work will include road widening, drainage and kerb works.
A footpath will also be provided on the north side.
As part of the works the existing roundabout at McMahon and Goodall streets will be finalised with the existing central island enlarged to reduce traffic speeds and improve overall road safety in the area.
It is anticipated that work will begin on the upgrade in early 2024.
