Public Transport
Public Transport in Warrnambool is provided by the Victorian Government through the Department of Transport and Planning and its transport agency, Public Transport Victoria or PTV.
Public transport options in Warrnambool include bus and V/Line train services.
Bus shelters
Council is working with the Department of Transport to resolve the management and funding of bus shelters, which are installed at a number of PTV bus stops around Warrnambool. While Council does not have a dedicated fund for public transport shelters, councils across Victoria, including Warrnambool, do maintain and clean bus shelters. Renewal of dilapidated shelters and funding for new shelters is still the responsibility of the Department through PTV.
Bus stops and routes
Council works in partnership with PTV to identify new bus stops and to improve bus routes.
Requests for new bus shelters received by Council will be passed on PTV for funding consideration.
