This event is a chance to hear directly from our team of Inspectors, ask questions about your rights, responsibilities or employer obligations at work and make any required changes to help keep yourself and your team safe on the job.

Topics at the breakfast and during inspections will include:

  • Risks associated with exposure to crystalline silica dust in common construction tasks (outside of engineered stone)
  • Bushfire assessment levels, fire rating, and waterproofing
  • Roofing and gas fitting compliance
  • General Environmental Duty (GED) and environmental laws that apply to the construction industry
  • Obligations working near overhead powerlines and underground energy assets (for individuals and companies)
  • plus more!

Inspectors will be visiting workplaces in and around Warrnamabool following this event, so this is a great opportunity to stop by for a coffee and ask any questions you have about your rights, responsibilities, or employer obligations at work.

The Build Aware program is a joint initiative between ESV, VBA, EPA, and WorkSafe Victoria, to deliver industry oversight of laws that protect owners, builders, and the community.

The four regulators come together to raise awareness and help Victorians understand their obligations to comply with building, construction, environment, plumbing, and occupational health and safety laws.
