This is the date and time that this news article was published.

The biggest film crew Warrnambool has seen in at least a decade (and possibly longer) arrives next week.

‘The Dispatcher’ will bring about 300 staff to the city for filming between Monday May 26 and Tuesday June 3. There will also be about 400 extras, many of them locals, involved in filming.

The production is expected to inject about $1 million into the local economy.

Council was first contacted by the production company back in February 2024, so it’s very exciting to see filming about to start!

Filming will be taking place at:

• Von Guerard Boulevard on Monday 26th, Tuesday 27th and Saturday 31st May.
• The Warrnambool Breakwater between Thursday 28th and Saturday 31st May.
• Hopkins Point Road (between Hopkins Bridge and Seascape View) on Friday 30th May.
• Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum between Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd June.

Multiple traffic changes and partial road closures will be in place affecting Viaduct Road, Warrnambool Breakwater precinct, Von Guerard Boulevard and Flagstaff Hill during the above dates, so thank you in advance for your patience.

‘The Dispatcher’ stars Patrick Brammall as Police detective Ian Hunt. His life fell apart ten years ago when his young daughter, Maggie, disappeared without a trace. Now working as a police dispatcher, the only thing that has kept him going is his implacable refusal to accept that she might be gone forever. When he receives a distress call from a young girl he is certain is Maggie, he will stop at nothing to find her and reunite his broken family, whatever the cost.
