Nominations for the 2027 Warrnambool Citizen of the Year Awards are now open.
Categories include Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year (aged 16-30), Community Event of the Year and Local Achiever.
Warrnambool Mayor Ben Blain said that the annual awards are an important way that as a community, we can recognise and celebrate the people and events that make Warrnambool special.
“There are so many people across our city that do so many amazing things to really enrich Warrnambool,” he said.
“These awards allow us to come together and celebrate some of these people and the impact that they have had.
“It only takes a few minutes to nominate, and it’s a really meaningful way to show your appreciation for someone, and to help the wider community share in that appreciation.”
The awards will be presented alongside a Citizenship Ceremony to be held on Australia Day January 26, 2027, followed by a community barbecue.
Nominations close at 5pm on Wednesday November 25, 2026.
