Businesses big and small are encouraged to take part in the 2026 Warrnambool Business Survey.

Business owners, operators and home-based businesses can share insights about their business to help provide a snapshot of the local economy.

Warrnambool Mayor Cr Ben Blain said the survey provided valuable insights into Warrnambool’s changing business landscape.

“The survey has been running since 2011 and has provided some very valuable data on our changing economic climate over that time,” he said.

“This helps us at Council determine the type of business support that will have the greatest impact.

“Feedback from the last survey highlighted growing concern about anti-social behaviour, as well as a desire for more regular business training and networking events, and this helped shape our business events calendar.

“We had never hosted de-escalation training before, but it was one of our best-attended workshops of 2025, and that really demonstrated the value of adapting our program for the changing needs of the business community.”

Cr Blain said the results of all previous surveys were publicly available, providing businesses with access to 15 years of local data.

“Having this level of local data available can be really useful for businesses when they’re planning for the future,” he said.

“It also gives individual businesses a broader picture of what’s happening across Warrnambool. When they are facing challenges, they can see whether other local operators are experiencing similar issues and whether their experience may be part of a wider trend.

“The more businesses that complete the survey, the better the data becomes. We had more than 300 responses to our most recent survey in 2024 and we’d really like to see similarly strong numbers this year.”

Visit www.yoursaywarrnambool.com.au to complete the survey by August 30.

All survey responses are anonymous.
