Warrnambool City Council has committed to be a carbon neutral organisation by 2026, electricity usage represents the mains source of carbon emissions for Council operations.
From July 1st 2021, Council has procured approximately 40% of its electricity load through renewable energy as part of Local Government Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
The graphs below shows Council emissions, during 2022 it will be noticed a significant drop in Council emissions due to the PPA or Green Power as this way of buying electricity will not generate emissions.
