While Lake Pertobe is the ultimate destination for families over the holidays, it’s even better on Friday nights in January.
Warrnambool’s twilight markets and outdoor movies have become a summer tradition for visitors and locals.
After 4.30pm Lake Pertobe comes alive with a unique shopping, dining and entertainment experience.
The Twilight Markets will be held on January 2, 9, 16 and 23 and will include a great variety of fabulous market stalls plus delicious food, boutique beer and wine.
Live music and an ideal location help create a delightful environment to shop, grab a bite to eat, sit and enjoy.
Warrnambool City Council Events and Promotion Coordinator Rebecca Elmes said that the markets are a winning combination of shopping, food, music and fun.
“These markets are hugely successful and a real highlight of a summer visit to Warrnambool,” Ms Elmes said.
After the sun sets and the Twilight Markets finish, it’s time to settle in for a film under the stars.
This year’s coming attractions include The Lego Movie (PG), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (G) and The Grand Budapest Hotel (M).
Bring your own camping chairs, blankets and picnic or enjoy light refreshments available on site.
“There is a real drive-in feel with watching a film outdoors in a comfortable setting like this,” Ms Elmes said.
“With tickets only $2 each, it is a price you would expect at a ‘60s drive-in too.
“All ticket proceeds go to Daybreak Rotary Club Warrnambool.”
Showtime is at dusk (usually about 9pm) with The Lego Movie to be screened on January 2, E.T. on January 9 and The Grand Budapest Hotel on January 16.
