Chill on the hill

Time to chill at Flagstaff Hill

News Article Date:
Monday, 21 January 2019

The 2019 edition of Chill on the Hill has been one of the best attended yet, with the final event to be held this Wednesday from 5pm at Flagstaff Hill.

Held every Wednesday in January, Chill on the Hill combines live music and local food vendors in a relaxed setting.

Flagstaff Hill Manager Paul Pinkerton said that the event was growing in popularity, with another strong turnout expected this week.

“We all lead such busy lives now, I think summer is a time to slow down a bit and relax with friends and family,” he said.

“Sometimes the best events are the most simple. People seem to really relish the opportunity to just come along, lay out a picnic rug and take it easy.”

Mr Pinkerton said that attendees were welcome to bring their own picnic or sample the wares of local producers.

“There are plenty of great dining options, so everyone can have what they want for tea,” he said.

“As the sun goes down, you can savour a glass or Koonara wine, or Sow and Piglet Beer from Port Campbell.

“For something sweet, our recently opened Mrs Kucks Confectionary is named in honour of Warrnambool’s first lolly-shop and we also have Timboon Fine Ice Cream on site.”

Entry to Chill on the Hill is complimentary to day ticket holders, children and members. Adult tickets are $6.50.
