Warrnambool Business Trends Survey

Survey open for business

News Article Date:
Friday, 26 May 2017

Warrnambool businesses of all sizes are encouraged to complete the 2017 Warrnambool Business Trends Survey.

The survey aims to produce a snapshot of the local commercial and industrial sector, analysing emerging and continuing trends, plans for growth and trading performance.

This is the sixth year that the survey has been undertaken.

Warrnambool City Council Manager Economic Development and Investment Shaun Miller said that the more businesses that completed the survey, the more statistically significant the results became.

“A wide range of factors drive business and growth in our economy, and through this survey, and our partnerships with South West Credit and Deakin University, we are able to track the key drivers influencing Warrnambool.

“This survey is not just for traditional businesses. We are eager to hear from home-based businesses too.

“We suspect that home-based businesses make a significant contribution to our overall economy, and we really want to find out how to support and enhance those businesses.

“The findings of previous surveys have helped to shape the delivery of Council’s economic development activities, and the 2017 survey is an opportunity to refine that direction going forward.

“I would urge all businesses, large and small, to take a few minutes to complete it.

“The findings will be released during the Warrnambool Small Business Festival, providing a valuable resource for existing businesses and potential investors across all sectors.”

The survey is open until June 30 and respondents can choose to remain anonymous.

Businesses which have opted-in to Council’s Economic Development unit mailing list will have received the survey either in the post or via email this week.

Alternatively, hard copies can be collected from the Warrnambool City Council offices, South West Credit, The Standard or 3YB/COAST FM.
