Rehabilitation work on Edwards Bridge, which crosses the Merri River along Stanley Street, have been completed on budget and ahead of time.
The bridge's 20-tonne load limit will remain in place and the work means the bridge will be serviceable for many years.
Efforts by the contractor, favourable weather and tides allowed the work to be completed ahead of schedule.
The contractor also scheduled works to permit the opening of the bridge during the March long weekend and last weekend to minimise inconvenience to businesses and visitors to Warrnambool's foreshore.
