Search for new CEO begins

News Article Date:
Friday, 14 September 2018

The search has officially begun to find a new chief executive officer for Warrnambool City Council.

Over coming days advertisements will be placed in print and online seeking a new CEO.

“Council has appointed a prominent recruitment agency, Davidson, to help in the search,” Warrnambool Mayor Cr Robert Anderson said.

"We anticipate making an appointment before the end of the year.

“We are very confident that we will attract a strong field of applicants.

“The lure of working in Victoria’s most liveable city and within the Great South Coast region are great factors working in our favour.

“Plus, the city is in great shape and by the time the next CEO arrives the finishing touches on the renewal of Liebig Street will be complete.

“It’s a vitally important role and one that is key to helping fulfil the vision of Council which is for Warrnambool to be a cosmopolitan city by the sea.”

The process to appoint a new CEO began following an announcement by current CEO Bruce Anson that he would not seek renewal of his employment when his contract term expires on January 3 next year.

Details on the vacancy are available here.
