“I am incredibly humbled by the role and the responsibility that has been given to me,” he said.

“As a cohesive Youth Council, we are committed to addressing the needs and concerns of young people within our area.

“I’d like to express the huge gratitude that the Youth Council owes to the previous Youth Mayor Gabby Good, the Deputy Mayor Tom O’Sullivan, and the Youth Councillors who finished at the end of last year.

“I’d like to also warmly welcome our new members to the Youth Council and I look forward to working with them throughout the year.”

Luke is the grandson of former Warrnambool Mayor David Atkinson, and he said that his grandfather was incredibly proud of his achievement.
