Great South Coast farmers and associated service providers are being urged to set aside September 12 in their diaries.

September 12 is “Innovation Day” for our primary producers and will feature a special event at Deakin University’s Warrnambool campus.

Innovation Day is aimed at equipping farmers and service providers with information, contacts and skills to advance their business.

“It will provide opportunities for skill development and networking with the main focus of the day being cutting edge innovation in each of our sectors including wool, cropping, dairy and red meat production; as well as showcasing synergies and cross over application across the sectors,” Great South Coast Food and Fibre Group Executive Officer Tony Ford said.

There will be ten workshops held throughout the day in five streams, followed by an industry dinner with a special guest speaker and entertainment.

The event is part of the Great South Coast Food and Fibre Action Plan and is supported by WestVic Dairy, Dairy Australia and Deakin University.
