All your questions on emergencies can be answered at the region’s first Emergency Services Capability Forum.
Whether you want to know how to prepare for an emergency or are curious about the amazing equipment used by our emergency services the forum will have it all.
The all-day event on December 15 will be held at Lake Pertobe in Warrnambool.
Agencies including Ambulance Victoria, CFA, VIC SES, DELWP, Forest Fire Management, Coast Guard, Marine Rescue, Victoria Police and Red Cross and many more will showcase their equipment to the public and to other agencies.
Community education staff will be on hand to provide practical advice to the community about their risks and what they can do to prepare. There will also be a closed forum for emergency services personnel and volunteers where knowledge, learnings and capability will be shared.
This is an initiative of the joint Moyne Shire Council and Warrnambool City Council Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee.
“This forum will be a spectacular display of emergency services collaborating and sharing specialist knowledge and equipment,” Emergency Management Co-ordinator Sue Rondeau said.
“Having all emergency service agencies together on one site, will provide the community with opportunity to have all their questions answered.
“There will be CFA trucks, Victoria Police vehicles including the police command semi –trailer, boats and other specialist vehicles.”
Those attending can find out how: DELWP disentangles whales; VICSES undertake rescues; to be safe on the water and to be fire-ready
If it is available the helicopter ambulance will also made an appearance.
“Feel free to ask what you can do to prepare yourself for an emergency and enjoy a free barbecue at lovely Lake Pertobe,” Ms Rondeau said.
