City centre business operators have a chance to hear from retail expert Martin Ginnane at a free workshop on Tuesday, August 9.

The workshop, part of this year’s Great South Coast Small Business Festival, will give participants a chance to hear from Mr Ginnane about his experiences with similar projects.

“There’ll be a Q and A session and the evening provides a great opportunity for business operators to hear from a consultant who has worked with brands including Target, Angus and Coote, Burberry, Costco, Downtown Duty Free, Tiffany & Co and Zara,” Warrnambool City Council Economic Development and Investment Manager Shaun Miller said.

Mr Ginnane established Ginnane & Associates in 2012 to provide advice to local and international retailers on how to successfully enter or expand in Australia.

In addition to current knowledge of retail trends gained by participating in major global retail events, Mr Ginnane brings years of experience in domestic and international retail, business development and government facilitation to every project.

His broad ranging background includes hands-on roles as a senior retail executive and specialist consultant to industry.

Along with work in the retail sector Mr Ginnane has been involved in delivering major promotional events including L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (now Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival) and Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.

Working with the Victorian State Government in consultation with the City of Melbourne, Mr Ginnane was also responsible for creating and delivering the Melbourne Retail Strategy 2006-2012.
