Thirty-six community organisations have shared in more than $70,000 in funding via the 2017/2018 Warrnambool City Council Community Development Fund.
The fund provides grants of up to $3000 to assist clubs in delivering sporting, recreational, cultural and environmental projects, programs, activities and events.
Warrnambool Mayor Kylie Gaston said that the $70,919 in Council funding would make projects worth $190,242 possible.
“The Community Development Fund certainly provides bang for buck with Council funds pooled with other money raised by groups and often in-kind labour to deliver great outcomes,” she said.
“It is interesting each year to see the range of worthwhile projects and initiatives being undertaken by our city’s community groups.
“With such a diversity of outstanding community organisations in Warrnambool, whatever your hobby or interest, there is probably a group or club you can get involved with.”
