Help clean up our local beaches, waterways and parks by repurposing rubbish into art!

The Rubbish Repurposed competition is hosted by this year’s Green Futures Now team – a passionate group of young people who are leading local environmental action. Through the competition they hope to raise more awareness around the local issue of litter and pollution.

It’s FREE to enter and open to anyone (of all ages) living in the Great South Coast (Warrnambool, Moyne, Corangamite, Glenelg and Southern Grampians shires).

Artwork must be constructed from collected rubbish from local beaches, waterways or parks. All artwork (i.e. sculptures, 2D, assemblage, mixed media and collage) of any size accepted. You will be asked to upload a photo of your artwork and the litter used to create it (if available).

Artworks will be exhibited at the F Project Arts Precinct from 1-21st September in an indoor/outdoor exhibition. The exhibition  will open on Sunday 1st September, where winners will be announced. Winning artworks will be selected by Green Futures Now 2024 and artist Carmel Wallace. The major prize includes a photograph of your artwork displayed on an educational sign at Warrnambool’s breakwater.

There's also a workshop with Carmel Wallace on Sunday July 14 if you'd like some advice on how to turn your rubbish into a beautiful piece of art. It's free, but places are limited.
