The newly redeveloped Reid Oval hosts its first national competition on Sunday October 9 2022 with the Essendon Bombers taking on the Geelong Cats in Round 7 of the AFLW.
A crowd in excess of 5000 is expected, so make sure you arrive with plenty of time so you don’t miss any of the action.
Where can I park?
Public parking will be set up on the grassed areas near Walter Oval (enter via Coulstock Street) and Mack Oval (enter via Grafton Road). Then follow the footpath through to the Reid Oval entrance near Coulstock Street.
Limited disabled parking is available in the Cramer Street carpark. A drop-off zone will also operate in the Cramer Street carpark.
The remainder of the Cramer Street carpark is reserved for AFL game day operations.
When do gates open and when does the game start?
Gates open at 11am with the first bounce at 1.10pm.
There’s plenty to do ahead of the game. As part of the AFLW Country Festival there’s a farmers market, petting zoo, games, face painting and, thanks to Toyota Forklifts, a forklift. Plus Powercor are giving fans the opportunity to see Reid Oval from above by taking a ride on a cherry picker.
How do I get tickets?
Adult tickets are $10 with children (under 18s) free. We strongly recommend that you secure your tickets to the game beforehand (including registering 18s for their free ticket) to avoid delays on the day.
Tickets are also available for purchase at the Cramer Street entrance only.
What else are Essendon and Geelong doing while they are in Warrnambool?
The Bombers will head to Warrnambool on Saturday October 8 and host an open training session on Saturday from 3:45pm at Reid Oval, in their final preparations for the Round 7 clash. On Monday morning, Essendon will host a session for local female footballers (organised through the Western Victoria Female Football League) with a primary school clinic to follow.
Geelong will host school clinics and a junior girls clinic on Friday October 7 and an open training session on Saturday October 8 at Reid Oval from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. As part of this open training session, members of the public will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the 2022 AFL Premiership trophy.
Entry for the open training sessions is via the Coulstock Street entrance.
