COVID-19 update

News Date:

January 20, 2022 update

For details about regulations around businesses reopening and ongoing measures to help contain COVID-19 please visit the Department of Health website.

The Victorian Government has a suite of translated resources available for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

SBS provides news and information about COVID-19 (coronavirus) in 63 languages.

Please note that Council staff are unable to provide specific advice about the COVID-19 restrictions pertaining to individual businesses.

Business owners and operators should regularly check the Victorian Government's advice for business and work: www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/business-and-work

COVID-19 testing

The South West Health Care testing facility at 184 Merri Street (former Sam’s Warehouse) will be closed after January 4, 2022.

To enable greater capacity for symptomatic people, a testing facility at Deakin University will operate from January 5, 2022, until further notice.

Bookings are not required, however you need to pre-register to get a unique registration number in order to receive your results.

The Deakin University site provides PCR tests only. These tests are for people who have COVID-19 symptoms, or people who would otherwise take a Rapid Antigen Test but are unable to access one.

If you do not have COVID-19 symptoms and require a test for travel or other reasons, South West Healthcare request that you contact the private pathology clinic of your choice. Many clinics now offer non-symptomatic COVID-19 testing.

For the latest testing and isolation requirements, visit www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au
