Position Description:

 

The City of Warrnambool, located on the spectacular south west coast of Victoria, 3 hours’ drive from Melbourne, is the largest city in southwest Victoria. We are the major regional centre for healthcare, education, professional services and sport and culture in the region.

 

The position is located within the City Strategy Unit and is responsible for assisting with a range of strategic planning work, with a strong focus on open space planning.

 

The Open Space Planner position is expected to have a strong focus on facilitation and policy writing, drawing advice from inter-departmental Council officers to deliver an improved open space environment for the future for Warrnambool.

 

To join Councils diverse team of planning professionals, the successful applicant will be required to:

  • Strategically plan and program directions for the present and future network of public open space, parklands and associated facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide timely advice to the organisation and broader community in land use, development and environmental planning.
  • Specialist skills in the area of strategic open space planning or an allied discipline.

Salary Range:                     $81,190 to $88,170 p.a (pro-rata)
