The BIG Round 2 is a WCC response to the impact of COVID-19 on local businesses and incorporated as part of the ‘Get Around Warrnambool’ (GAW) Business Support Plan which has a Respond, Recover and Rebuild Strategy.

  • Funding supports businesses who have a physical location and are locally owned and operate in the Warrnambool City Council boundary to implement an idea or approach which will lead to business improvements and/or increased levels of business.
  • BIG allows businesses to apply for grants with $1:$1 match funding up to $3,000 per business to implement new ideas, projects or programs.
  • Criteria and assessment of applications is weighted towards existing businesses and industry sectors which have been the most adversely affected by the impact of COVID-19. Industries identified by Council as being eligible include those from the following sectors:
Retail / Hospitality / Automotive - Servicing & Sales / Personal Services / Commercial Accommodation Services / Leisure and Recreation / Professional Home Improvement Services
Business who do not fall under any of these sectors should contact council to discuss how they were affected by COVID-19.
  • Any future rounds will be at the discretion of WCC

  • Businesses who received BIG funding in the first round held during 2020 are not eligible for this round
