Payne Reserve toilets to be upgraded

News Article Date:
Wednesday, 6 August 2014

Work has begun on the upgrade of the Payne Reserve toilet block.

Improving the toilets at Payne Reserve was identified as a community priority during a review last year of the city’s public amenities.

The $127,500 upgrade will result in a new roof, the addition of rainwater tanks, sensor-activated lighting and the creation of two unisex toilets and a disabled access toilet/baby change room.

The current configuration of the toilets includes separate male and female toilets and a disabled access toilet which no longer complies with current standards.

Depending on weather, the toilets will remain closed for up to two months until work is completed.

The work, which was put out to tender, will be carried out by Fairbrother Construction.

Alternative public toilets are available at the nearby Dennington Recreation Reserve.
