A popular skateboarding duo is returning to Warrnambool to present a free skateboarding workshop on Monday March 28 (Easter Monday).

Iconic Melbourne skateboarder Richard Flude and Tasmania’s former Junior Olympian Rachel Delphin will be hosting the skateboard workshop from 10am-2.30pm with a best trick competition from 2.30-3pm at the Warrnambool Skate Park.

This fully supervised event caters for all ages and all skill levels with skateboards and safety equipment provided.

Warrnambool City Council Youth Development Planner Katie McKean said that she had heard a lot of positive feedback about last year’s event.

“Richard and Rachel were here in September last year and everyone in attendance had a great time,” she said.

“Whether you’ve never ridden a board before, or you’re looking for tips on how to perfect your kickflip to darkslide, you will be well catered for.”

Participants can register on the day and a parental or guardian signature will be required for under 18s.

In the event of wet weather, the workshop will be held at the Merrivale Primary School.

This smoke, drug and alcohol free event is supported by the State Government of Victoria through the FReeZA initiative and Warrnambool City Council.
