Summer night markets at Lake Pertobe

Friday night markets and movies at Lake Pertobe

News Article Date:
Thursday, 24 December 2015

The extremely popular summer night markets and outdoor film screenings at Lake Pertobe return in January, guaranteeing a great evening out for the whole family.

From 4.30pm you are invited to wander around some excellent market stalls, grab a bite to eat and maybe something to drink from one of the vendors on site and settle in to listen to some live music with the picturesque lake making for the perfect backdrop.

Markets will run every Friday in January, so that’s five opportunities to enjoy the perfect combination of shopping, dinner and music.

Then it’s time to lay out the picnic rug or set up your camping chair to enjoy a family film under the stars.

All films start at dusk (about 8.30-9pm) with tickets only $2 per person.

A trio of tantalising films are set to screen over three weeks, from Friday January 1.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes the 2015 Academy Award winner Big Hero 6 (PG), an action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax, a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada.

Next it’s Paper Planes (G): an imaginative children's film about a young Australian boy's passion for flight and his challenge to compete in the World Paper Plane Championships in Japan. Starring Sam Worthington and Anthony LaPaglia.

The final film will be the cult classic Little Miss Sunshine (M). The Hoover family puts the fun back in dysfunctional by piling into a VW bus and heading to California to support their daughter in her bid to win the Little Miss Sunshine pageant.
