Two new pedestrian bridges at Lake Pertobe have been officially opened, just in time for the busy holiday period.

The bridges, one 14m long and the other 10m long, replace two existing bridges which were about 30 years old.

The bridges were built by Warrnambool builder Brett Lake and were designed by local engineering business, The CSE Group.

Lake Pertobe continues to be a very popular attraction for visitors and residents.

It has a five star rating on Trip Advisor and is ranked No. 2 of “28 things to do in Warrnambool” on the Trip Advisor website behind visiting the Bay of Islands.

The same website also names Lake Pertobe as the seventh best park in the South Pacific Region.
