Don't put recycling in plastic bags

National Recycling Week

Council celebrates Planet Ark's National Recycling Week every November.

It is a great opportunity to raise awareness about recycling and educate the community about any particular programs, campaigns or issues that are happening in the City.

Community groups, businesses and council often run events during this week such as car boot sales or SWAP parties or highlight a particular item that is consistently contaminating our recycling efforts, for example plastic bags.

National Recycling Week is also a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our recycling and re-use achievements but also a chance to recognise and consider the challenges ahead.

Also during National Recycling Week, Council promotes the services in our community dedicated to recycling and re-use.
