Hosts sought for business festival

News Article Date:
Tuesday, 14 February 2017

Businesses planning to host an event in 2017 are encouraged to consider teaming up with the Great South Coast Small Business Festival.

This year will be the sixth running of the Victorian Government sponsored festival, held annually from August 1-31.

More than 700 people attended 28 Great South Coast Small Business Festival events in 2016.

Warrnambool City Council Manager Economic Development and Investment Shaun Miller said that learning and development conferences, networking events and business dinners with guest speakers were all great examples of events which could tie in with the festival.

“There are no limitations to what types of events can be submitted, as long as they add value to the local business community,” he said.

“The Small Business Festival is one of the most heavily promoted events on the Victorian business calendar, with participating businesses having their events promoted to thousands of potential attendees.

“Hosting an event can be a great way to position your company as a subject matter expert or to meet potential customers.”

Once an event has been submitted, businesses will then be notified at a later date as to whether their event has been officially approved to be a part of the August programing.

Event submissions for the Small Business Festival close on Friday March 3.
