Florence Collins Children's Centre reopened

News Article Date:
Tuesday, 15 November 2016

Following a brief closure for maintenance work, Florence Collins Children’s Services Complex has reopened.

The complex, in Kepler Street, was closed on November 9 following the discovery of mould in the building.

After receiving the results of investigative work undertaken at the site Warrnambool City Council (WCC) made a decision to reopen the complex on Monday, November 14.

“The short-term closure was a precautionary measures to ensure the safety of children and staff,” WCC Director Community Development Vikki King said.

“We understand this caused inconvenience for families but it was important that the investigation was carried out and the issue resolved to ensure everyone’s safety.

“So Florence Collins is back open for business and we will welcome back staff, children and their families.”
