Draft Special Charge Scheme Policy out for comment

News Article Date:
Tuesday, 23 May 2017

The community is being invited to comment on Warrnambool City Council’s Draft Special Charge Scheme Policy.

At a Council meeting in April Council voted to release the revised version of the policy to the public and to consider submissions on the policy.

The draft Special Charge Scheme Policy is aimed at ensuring that Council’s approach to funding new and upgraded infrastructure projects includes contributions from properties which receive special benefit.

The revised policy is based on 14 principle statements which would underpin Council’s decision-making in considering the introduction of a Special Rates and Charge scheme.

It provides for an open and transparent process, encourages input from potential contributors and provides a fair, reasonable and equitable basis for apportioning costs.

The policy is available to view via the link to the right:

Any submissions on the policy should be marked “Special Charge Scheme Policy Submission” and be directed to Warrnambool City Council, 25 Liebig Street, Warrnambool 3280.

Alternatively, submissions can be emailed to wbool_city@warrnambool.vic.gov.au

Submissions will be accepted until 5pm, Friday June 23, 2017.
