Warrnambool City Council’s draft Procurement Policy is now out for public comment.

At its recent meeting the Council voted to release the revised version of the policy and to consider submissions in relation to the policy at a future meeting.

“Under the Local Government Act Council is required to prepare and approve a Procurement Policy,” Director City Infrastructure Scott Cavanagh said.

“The Procurement Policy is aimed at ensuring that Council’s purchasing practices are fair and that they deliver the best possible value and outcomes for the community.

“The revised policy is based on nine guiding principles which will underpin Council’s purchasing of goods and services.

“These are ethics, value for money, competition, fairness to suppliers, accountability, risk management, transparency, sustainable procurement and confidentiality.”

The policy if available at the link on the right.

Submissions on the policy should be marked “Procurement Policy Submission” and be directed to Warrnambool City Council, 25 Liebig Street, Warrnambool 3280. Alternatively, submissions can be emailed to wbool_city@warrnambool.vic.gov.au
