Detox Your Home 2018

News Article Date:
Thursday, 22 February 2018

Now is the time to rid yourself of the unwanted chemicals cluttering up your shed or garage.

The annual Detox Your Home collection will be held on Saturday February 24 from 9am-3pm at the Warrnambool Livestock Exchange.

Detox Your Home is your once a year chance to dispose of unwanted household products such as cooking oil, detergents, fertiliser, fuel, herbicides, pesticides, turpentine, wood oils and more, free of charge.

“Household chemicals can be dangerous – they can harm your family and your pets, add extra fuel to a house fire, release toxic fumes and pollute the environment for future generations,” Warrnambool City Council Waste Management Officer Kate McInnes said.

“There’s no need to register for Detox Your Home, simply turn up on the day with your unwanted items and the team from Sustainability Victoria will do the rest.

“The collected items are recovered and diverted from landfill.”
