New and existing businesses can now benefit from improved Business Victoria Information services. Together with the State Government, Warrnambool City Council is now providing current and future business owners with information from key federal, state and local government agencies to help you start, run and grow your business.
With the improved regulatory information and services in one place, as a business owner you will have more time to focus on what's really important - running your business. Simply by logging on to the website and selecting the business and industry page and clicking on the 'Government Support & Assistance for Businesses' link, you will be able to manage your compliance obligations with ease, interacting with both state and local council directly to obtain answers.
The Australian Tax Office, Workcover, the State Revenue Office, Consumer Affairs Victoria and the Small Business Commissioner are some of the agencies involved and additional agencies will join the project as part of a planned roll-out. Having the scope to explore across government from one central location reduces the confusion that small business has often said is a time-consuming problem. Interactive step-by-step guides provide assistance for common business issues including general business management, supply chain management, workplace safety, working with suppliers and staffing management.
There is an Ask a Question service designed to offer a 'one-stop shop' for businesses to ask questions, either online or by telephone, rather than searching across many different websites or calling many numbers. Drawing on information gathered from across government, most questions can be answered immediately. More complex questions are escalated for expertise on a particular subject, to provide the right answer.
