This amendment (known as C72) to the Warrnambool Planning Scheme proposes to rezone additional land for Industrial purposes. The land to be rezoned comprises land in western Warrnambool along Rooneys Road, adjacent to an existing industrial area, and land in eastern Warrnambool along Horne Road.
This eastern area is proposed to form a new industrial precinct within Warrnambool, known as the Eastern industrial Precinct, and this amendment proposes to apply a number of overlays to the site, including the Development Plan Overlay, to ensure the area is appropriately planned.
In conjunction with this rezoning, the amendment also proposes to rezone three parcels in West Warrnambool for open space and drainage purposes.
The amendment implements the Industrial Land Use Review, and was exhibited for six weeks in 2011, between 21 April and 2 June.
