Active Ageing Plan 2008 - 2013

The Warrnambool Active Ageing Plan documents the demography of our older residents, reports on recent initiatives undertaken by Council, identifies opportunities, issues and concerns and proposes strategies and actions to address them over the coming 5 years.

The plan has been developed in the context of a world-wide increase in the number and percentage of older persons (60+ age group). This phenomenon is reflected in Warrnambool with the number of residents in this group increasing by 714 between 2001 and 2006 A further increase of 1,935 on the 2006 number of 6,020 (60+) is projected by 2016.
