Sustainable Living Festival

The 2014 Warrnambool Sustainable Living Festival was a huge success with an estimated 4000 attendees visiting to check out our extensive range of speakers, workshops, stalls, food and live music. Almost $1000 was raised in gold coin donations that was given to the Warrnambool RSPCA to fund their new “small animal” enclosure.

Our two charismatic keynote speakers entertained festival-goers with their views on sustainable living and demonstrations of their skills. Rohan Anderson, modern-day hunter gatherer and author of blog and cookbook “Whole Larder Love”, impressed the crowds with his cooking demonstration using one of Australia’s biggest pests – rabbit. Ian McBurney, ecological sustainability speaker/facilitator/MC/educator, inspired many to engage in captivating conversations about a sustainable future (not to mention some pretty impressive magic tricks).

Other Festival highlights included:

  • Car boot sale
  • Local products and produce
  • Stalls
  • “Green” beer brewing
  • Keeping chooks workshop
  • Bringing nature to your backyard
  • Sustainable fashion parade
  • Fishing for our future workshop
  • Make-your-own home products
  • Sustainable arts and crafts
  • Food and entertainment
  • Plus much more!
