Shape the future of Warrnambool’s Strategic Planning and Development


Council is now seeking to appoint an experienced Manager to lead the Strategic and Statutory Planning functions of our City.  Reporting to the Director City Growth you will be responsible for implementing strategies to facilitate the achievement of Council’s corporate objectives by developing, maintaining and coordinating a range of planning and development services for Warrnambool City Council.

Our region is recognised as a premier tourist destination both nationally and internationally with strong projected population growth in the next 10 years.  Economic progression is a key enabler of regional prosperity with Warrnambool requiring over 2,000 jobs to be created to support population growth over the next decade. Our Council has recently commenced a major city renewal project investing $15 million on the revitalisation of our critical community assets. This is an exciting period of development and change in Warrnambool’s rich history.


The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate extensive planning experience in assessing planning permits and subdivision applications, the preparation and management of Structure Plans and Development Contribution Plans and possess knowledge regarding general land use strategy and planning enforcement matters. Tertiary qualification(s) relating to planning is mandatory for this position.

This is a permanent full time position. An attractive remuneration package for this role is being offered.
