Sport and Recreation Victoria Community Facilities Funding Program
2014-2015 Expressions of Interest
The Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) is seeking applications for funding from community clubs and organisations under its 2014/15 Sport and Recreation Victoria Community Facility Funding Program – Minor Facilities Program.
The purpose of the program is to improve sport and recreation opportunities at the local level through the development of accessible and high quality community facilities. Funding of up to $100,000 is available on a 2:1 basis to successful applicants. Projects must be valued between $10,000 and $500,000 to be eligible for consideration under this program.
All applications under this program must be made through Council. Council may submit up to three applications to DPCD for consideration.
Expressions of interest for the 2014/15 Program are now open, and close with Council on 17 May 2013. Copies of the program guidelines and application form are available from Council by contacting the Recreation and Youth Coordinator on 5559 4809.
Community Development Fund
Local community clubs and organisations can apply for funding under Council’s Community Development Fund. The fund is to assist local clubs and organisations in developing and providing sporting, recreational or cultural programs, projects or events that will be completed by 30 June each year and based within Warrnambool city.
Annual funding round applications open July and will be finalised October each year.
Assistance to individuals or groups participating in National or International events or activities
Warrnambool City Council accepts that participation in sport, recreation and community activities plays an integral part in the health and fulfillment of its residents and contributes to the development of social capital in the community.
Council offers limited assistance to individuals or groups participating in recognised National or International events. Applications for assistance will be considered with preference given to those that fit under the following categories:
- The applicant/s has been selected to train in an official team/squad specifically chosen to represent Victoria/Australia at a National/International level.
- The applicant/s has been selected to compete as an individual or team to represent Victoria/Australia at a National/International level.
Council invites applications from individuals or groups based within the Warrnambool City municipal area to apply for assistance under this fund. Funding is available throughout the year. Applications are required six weeks prior to the event.
