Centre Based Childcare Waiting List

Council's Centre Based Child Care provides the very best in early childhood care and education programs for children age 0-6 years providing support for families throughout the region.

Centre Based Child Care believes every child has the ability to learn and develop by providing a play based room programs centred on the interests of the children and respects the diversity of all our families.

Centre Based Child Care compromises of 3 Long Day Care programs and 1 Kindergarten program incorporated at Florence Collins Children’s Services Complex, Kepler Street.

Programs are registered and have achieved the following Quality Assurances associations:

• National Child Care Accreditation Council.
• The Asthma Foundation of Victoria.
• Start Right Eat right.
• Kids ‘Go for your life’ award.
• Children’s Services Regulation and Children Services Act.
• Sunsmart.
• Kidsmatter – mental health pilot program (Florence Collins)

How can I access this service?

All centres have a waiting list. A waiting list application form can be downloaded or you can call to register on (03) 5559 4640.

What can you expect?

Care at the Centre based long day care centres is available on a full-time, part-time or sessional basis Monday –Friday from 8.00-6.00pm (except Florence Collins 7.30am start).

A funded Kindergarten program is facilitated at Florence Collins based on three 5 hour sessions.

Current fees

Council sets the fees and are charged at either a daily, weekly or am/pm rate.

Child Care Benefit (CCB)
Child Care Benefit is available to most families, depending on your yearly family income. This can be claimed weekly to reduce your fee’s, or annually as a lump sum.

Child Care Rebate (CCR)
Child Care Rebate covers 50% of out of pocket expenses, up to a maximum of $7,500* per child for the financial year. Out of pocket expenses are total child care fees less Child Care Benefit.
