Brierly Reserve

Brierly Recreation Reserve

Brierly Recreation Reserve is a 12 hectare park in the north east of the city.

Council developed a master plan for the Brierly Recreation Reserve to guide improvements to the park and its infrastructure over the next decade. The master plan was adopted by Council in September 2012 and is available for download from this page.

A recommendation of the Master Plan was for Council to support the creation of a residents and users group - "Friends of Brierly Reserve". This group has now been established and will meet approximately 3-4 times per year. The group will provide feedback to Council on the Master Plan implementation and Community Hub Feasibility project.

BRIERLY COMMUNITY HUB FEASIBILITY STUDY

The Master Plan identified the opportunity for Brierly Reserve to accommodate a multi-purpose community building on the site – to meet the needs of existing and future recreation users, and other community needs in this part of the city. A feasibility study to investigate this option has now been completed. The report is available to download from this page.

Council endorsed the recommendations of the feasibility study in December 2013 and work has commenced to secure funding to prepare a business plan for the project.
