| Animal Registration | | State Government legislation now requires cats and dogs over the age of three months to be registered with your council. In addition, the micro-chipping of dogs and cats acquired from pet shops and animal shelters is compulsory from 2007. All newly registered cats and dogs must be micro-chipped.
Registration renewals are due 10 April each year and can be made at the customer service counter at the Council.
Fee discounts apply for pensioners, micro-chipped, obedience trained, working dogs, dogs or cats over 10 years or registered with approved feline or canine association. Annual renewal notices will be sent out. Fees are reviewed annually. Registration disks for the life of the pet have been introduced.

| The removal of dog droppings is the responsibility of owners. Collecting bags are available from Council and at some locations.
