| Communtiy Access Plan | | Council recognises there is a significant number of people in our community who face difficulties in basic needs such as access to public facilities, communication and transport.
This Plan recognises that improvements in the areas of awareness, communication, services and public access is of benefit to the whole community – hence the title Community Access Plan - “Planning for Inclusion”
Council supports this Plan, is committed to meeting the stated expectations of Council and looks forward to working with all those involved in bringing about its implementation. | |
| Key Policy Statement | | Council will ensure that people are not discriminated against directly or indirectly because of disabilities, or any other reason, through the actions or inaction of Council.
Furthermore, it commits itself to promoting the rights of all people to equity in access to the services and facilities available in the community. | |
